Let’s Get Started

Hi and welcome my Health and Wellness Blog. I’m health coach and trainer Sherri Sacconaghi. When you see me I am a thin, athletic, healthy looking woman. I have people say to me, “well you are lucky, you are naturally thin” or “it is easy for you because you LIKE Broccoli”. Well, the broccoli part is true but the rest has been a journey for me.

7 years ago I was a tired, stressed out mom of two young boys who struggled with my weight on a daily basis. My family ate take out more than we ate in, I exercised during the day only so I could eat the large bean burrito that night from the joint down the street, I needed a nap every day, and little did I know that a breast cancer diagnosis was in my immediate future.

 

Fast forward to today I am a fit, active woman who runs half marathons (no longer motivated by the bean burrito), kicked cancer, cooks healthy meals for my family and is now helping many people in the community find health and happiness for themselves through one-on-one coaching, and community workshops. I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means I look at how all areas of a person’s life are connected. I help others develop an understanding of their food and lifestyle choices, and help implement lasting changes that will result in weight loss, improved energy, balance and health.

 

I have changed my life and that of my family, by changing my lifestyle and eating habits and I know the power these changes can hold. I know some of you reading this may be thinking “great for her, but I can’t do that.” It may seem too overwhelming, or you may feel too tired or just don’t know where to start. Well, this blog is a good place to start if you want to lower your weight, boost your mood, increase your energy and overall health.

 

Each week I will provide simple tips that you can implement immediately to live a healthier lifestyle.

 

Through research, cutting-edge information and plenty of my own stories and those of family and friends (don’t worry sis, it is all anonymous) you will gain information you can use today to live a healthier life.

 

So this week, I ask you, what are your health goals?

 

Do you have 1 or 50? Write them down. Don’t worry if they seem too big or not big enough the important thing is to start identifying them. “Then what?” you ask... Stay tuned and I’ll get to that. Stick with me people, this will be fun and who knows maybe swimsuit shopping will not be so bad this year.
